If you want photos of the American Embassy in Belize you can take a photo like this one:
The American Embassy here in Belmopan from about one block away
or you can take one like this
Sign in the front lawn of the American Embassy

But if you take a photo of your husband standing in front of the building a security guard will come out of nowhere and make you delete it in his presence... just so you know!

That's too funny! I saw FTLOB on your blog and checked it out. It looks really neat. Thanks for the tip. (although you didn't know you were giving it)
ReplyDeleteno photos are allowed here at the Embassy in Guatemala either. I sure wanted to take one of Cruz when we took him to get his U.S. passport.
ReplyDeleteInteresting and good to know :)
ReplyDeletewow that is interesting. and deleting the image in his or her presence...so strange!
ReplyDeleteapparently they just don't want those kinds of pictures taken :)
have a lovely weekend miss!
xoxo
Very Cool Pictures.
ReplyDeleteNo photos are allowed in my homeland of Barbados, and you have to be retina -scanned if you are an empolyee. Thank you so much for the birthday greetings Alida.
ReplyDeletexxo
Wait, why? That's interesting...
ReplyDeleteEmptyNestor- most likely they are concerned about someone using the photos to plot some kind of terrorist attack.
ReplyDeleteI just think it is a beautiful building and wanted to show it off on my blog.
Yeah, it's the same in the US Embassy in Costa Rica, they also have the cell phone access blocked the entire block then own! Pretty strict security!
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog and your comments, have a great weekend!
Many government buildings are off limits for pictures in many countries for security reasons. I was rushed by armed guards years ago when I lived in Abijan (Ivory Coast) when I tried to take a picture of the president's home. My son was recently stopped in Vietnam and required to delete pictures of in interesting building. He never even knew what the building was!
ReplyDeletewow..that is strange! Thank God we're past the days of film and you didn't have to pull the whole roll out of the camera! I'm dating myself arent I?...LOL
ReplyDeleteBlessings in your new adventure! =)
Patti
It's good that you managed to take pictures of the building. You can edit the picture to have your face there. LOL!
ReplyDeleteFunny, but I'm thinking with good reason.
ReplyDeleteGod Bless
Wow! That's so random... I wonder why no faces... ??
ReplyDeleteIt is a scary world we live in when these are the kinds of things we need to be concerned about.
ReplyDeleteI look forward to reading more on your blog -

Love the photos- that is too funny about your husband!
ReplyDeleteHow funny! Maybe they were afraid you would steal their cool landscaping ideas!
ReplyDeleteFunny...Guess it's top secret stuff huh?
ReplyDeleteThat's understandable. They don't want terrorists staking out the place. Too bad for the harmless folks who just want photos for fun though.
ReplyDeleteI thought one step past Patti to, "At least he didn't take the camera..."
ReplyDeleteHa! Too funny. Great pictures and I'm glad you didn't have to delete them all!
ReplyDeleteI am also grateful that he didn't take the camera!!
ReplyDeleteFunny but since my husband works for the govt I can understand the reason. It is a scary world we live in. If only govts could get along:)
ReplyDeleteJust a side note. I accidentally ran past a guard stand once and had 3 US military cars chasing me and when I stopped 6 armed men approached the car. Scared the H***out me. This was in the UK, where my husband works. I missed the guard stand due to construction and it was dark. I stopped immediately as I had the kids in the car and my license tag is in their computer:( It is just crazy what we live in today.
Weird but good to know :)
